Sices Group is confronted by the MP due to suspicions in the company's contracts

An anonymous complaint pointed out that there is a significant occurrence of fraud with overpricing in Service Provision Contracts

The MP-SP (Public Ministry of São Paulo) requested the removal, at least temporarily, of the current managing partner of the Sices Group, Leonardo Camillo Curioni, and the appointment of a co-manager to monitor the group's judicial recovery.

According to a report published on Broadcast+ on Monday (2), an anonymous complaint pointed out that there is a significant occurrence of fraud with overpricing in Service Provision Contracts, with the aim of emptying the assets of companies undergoing recovery, leading creditors to loss of judicial recovery.

Lawyer Pedro Dante explains that judicial recovery cannot be used by a company that intentionally failed to pay debts, characterized by fraudulent strategies. “This complaint, which must be proven by the MP-SP, says that Sices would be using the sense of recovery, to procrastinate payments of amounts owed to creditors”, explains Dante.

“If it is found that the company intentionally failed to fulfill obligations, and not as a result of the pandemic, this recovery could be cancelled, the company could go bankrupt and administrators could be held liable”, adds the expert.

When contacted by Canal Solar, the Sices Group sent the following note: The company, through this note, announces that it has become aware of the allegations made by the Public Ministry of the State of São Paulo in the files of incident no. 0000021-74.2020.8.26. 0260. The company announces that the alleged irregularities referred to by the Public Ministry did not occur, which will be duly demonstrated in the aforementioned incident, as soon as the company is summoned to respond within the deadline and in accordance with the law. Finally, the company emphasizes that it operates in a transparent manner, observing and ensuring that high standards of ethical conduct are observed.
