CONFAZ (National Council for Financial Policy) forwarded to two GTs (working groups) – GT 13: Energy and GT 26: Tax Benefits – the request from ABSOLAR (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association) for updates to be made to the NCM for photovoltaic modules.

The information was released this Thursday afternoon (17) by Rodrigo Sauaia, executive president of ABSOLAR, at Association YouTube.

The executive informed that ABSOLAR also requested participation in next week's working group meetings to defend the urgency of updating the ICMS agreements, which affect the solar photovoltaic sector.

The objective, according to Sauaia, is to present a proposal of what needs to be changed in these agreements. “Confaz also confirmed that this topic should be discussed in the technical groups, COTEPE and CONFAZ until March 31st of this year”, added the executive.

As announced by the Canal Solar report, The changes will come into force from April 1st of this year.

Sauaia also stated that the association is working on a legal front to defend the sector regarding these tax risks. “A possible action we will take on this front will be a writ of mandamus so that we can protect members if the situation is regularized within the deadline,” he concluded.
