The first HYDROGEN EXPO South America – International Fair & Congress about technologies and solutions for the production chain hydrogen will be held on the days June 20th and 21st 2023 at the Expo Mag Exhibition Center, in Rio de Janeiro - RJ).

The event brings together suppliers of technologies, equipment and solution developers for the hydrogen production chain and decarbonization and aims to bring to the country practical tools and solutions for the development of local industry.

Furthermore, it aims to encourage rapprochement and networking between demand and supply of players in South America and find alternatives to the real challenges for growth and scale gains in the Brazilian sector.

“The focus of the event is to move from discussion to the reality of hydrogen as an alternative for Brazilian and South American industries. It is a real and tangible solution for companies that plan to keep up with global demands and the technologies necessary to develop this business alternative”, commented Cassiano Facchinetti, managing director of Interlink Exhibitions.

Participations

HYDROGEN EXPO South America has the presence and support of large companies in the sector, brands such as Millenium Bioenergy, White Martins, Air Products, Goetze Armaturen, Gás Futuro, Herose GmbH, HL Soluções Ambientais, KSB, McPhy, Nitto, Pressure Comercial, Qualitec, T&T Sistemi, Aerzen, PVT, are some of the confirmed names.

In addition, entities such as ABEOOLICA, ABGD, ABH2, ABHAV, ABIMAQ, ABIOGÁS, ABRACEEL, ABSOLAR, CCS Brasil, CELA, INEL and Watt Capital will be present.

The 2023 edition of HYDROGEN EXPO South America also has a strategic partnership with the Brazil – Germany Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Rio de Janeiro, AHK Rio, which will actively participate in the development of the event.

HYDROGEN EXPO Congress

In addition to the exhibition area, the event organizes the Hydrogen Expo Congress, whose theme is Use cases of green hydrogen in practice, its applicability in Brazil and the ways to get there.

Developed in partnership with a Scientific Technical Committee made up of industry experts, the congress will present the latest topics on hydrogen production, fuel cells and decarbonization.

Experts from different sectors, government authorities, academics and influencers from Brazil and abroad will discuss innovation, new opportunities, public policies, among other topics.

In charge of curating the congress is Ansgar Pinkowski, director of Energy Transition and Sustainability at AHK Rio. “After extensive analysis of congresses that discuss this topic, we believe we have arrived at a new and disruptive concept for this event. We want to show that it is possible to invest in green hydrogen projects now and discuss the most viable paths along the value chain”, he highlighted.

There will be two days of panels divided into four tracks: export and distribution, mobility and transport, applications in industry and government and associations. On the last day, a propositional agenda will be created together with the government to develop projects linked to green hydrogen in Brazil.

The full conference schedule will be released later this month, when registration will be open.

Carbon: technologies and solutions

Simultaneous to the event, the CARBON CAPTURE EXPO South America also takes place, which deals with technologies and solutions for carbon capture, transport and storage.

The meeting will address topics such as regulatory security, economic viability and chain integration, points considered fundamental for the success of carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects in Brazil.

The theme is directly related to hydrogen and, for this reason, the two events will take place simultaneously, however, with exhibition areas and conferences exclusive to each specific subject.

“This concept of bringing together hydrogen and carbon capture issues in a simultaneous event already happens in other countries and, here in Brazil, it made perfect sense, since the topics are correlated and complementary,” said Facchinetti.

“HYDROGEN EXPO South America has generated great interest in the market and companies and associations have already been confirmed. Many of these companies are interested in or already operate in the carbon capture segment, therefore, expectations for CARBON CAPTURE EXPO are very high”, he concluded.
