Measure exempts ICMS from photovoltaic generators

The Government of Ceará, through the Finance Secretariat, published in the Official State Gazette the Decree No. 34,794/2022, which updates the nomenclature of photovoltaic generators.

The measure eliminates doubts about the collection of ICMS (Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services) on the entry of these products into the State and maintains tax exemption.

The new rules adjust the changes promoted in the NCM (Common Mercosur Nomenclature) to the classifications contained in Decree No. 33,327/2019, which regulates all ICMS legislation in Ceará. Therefore, direct current photovoltaic generators now have the following codes:

Fernanda Pacobahyba, Secretary of Finance, said that the adjustment was necessary to align the information that guarantees the exemption of the equipment. “Now everything is clear. As new NCMs were launched, there were doubts about waiving the tax. The State acted to update this nomenclature, bringing security to the relationship and exempting ICMS from photovoltaic generators”, he stated.
