Ideematec launches two-module solar tracker in portrait

The company also plans to announce a version of the tracker with a portrait module (1P), using the same technology

Ideematec, a German supplier of solar tracking systems, launched this Tuesday (20) its new tracker, the solar Horizon L: Tec. It is expected to be available in all markets from January 2021.

According to the company, the product has two portrait modules (2P) and a patented locking technology that protects the modules in position against torsional overload caused by extreme wind loads. The objective is to reduce maintenance costs and increase the useful life of the equipment.

Furthermore, according to Ideematec, the tracker integrates perfectly with bifacial solar panels and, therefore, must generate more energy per tracker and accommodate extra large photovoltaic modules, which are capable of remaining in the retracted position, at a zero degree angle, against winds of up to 290 km/h.

According to Mario Eckl, CEO of Ideematec, Horizon L: Tec meets a demand in the global photovoltaic market.

“With enhanced blocking technology, large-scale solar power projects are capable of generating power even in harsh climates and geographies. This improved design responds to the growing demand for equipment that installs quickly to reduce construction costs and is built to withstand worst-case scenarios. This shows our commitment to creating reliable solutions that will accelerate our path towards a clean and resilient energy future,” explained Eckl.

The company also plans to announce a version of the tracker with a portrait module (1P), using the same technology. The goal is to allow customers to purchase any of the options from a single supplier.
