A recent launch by GoodWe, the GW6000-EH 6kW hybrid single-phase inverter has just gained certification from INMETRO as an on-grid model, allowing it to operate in battery-free projects. With two MPPTs, it has a 12.5 A DC input.

According to the manufacturer, the GW6000-EH, even in its on-grid version, offers a great advantage: even without batteries, in the event of a power outage it is still capable of ensuring energy generation.

“It is the ideal solution for those who want to use their photovoltaic system during times of grid failure, even without batteries connected to the inverter, as the inverter does not turn off when the grid is lost. It continues to feed an independent circuit with priority equipment”, explains Alexandre Pereira, services manager at GoodWe.

Once Brazilian regulations on photovoltaic systems with batteries have been defined, the inverter will also have the possibility of unlocking its hybrid storage function, to operate in its full version, with the connection of high voltage lithium batteries from 85 V to 450 V.

“The inverter also comes with hardware ready to work with batteries. So, in the future, the customer can unlock the equipment by purchasing an activating code from GoodWe and start using their inverter with batteries”, adds Pereira.

While access to hybrid functionality is not yet possible, the GW6000-EH inverter will be sold by GoodWe at a more affordable price than the full version.
