The Project Director of ISA Cteep, Dyron Moreno, stated last week, during a conference call with shareholders, that the company continues to evaluate new opportunities in the battery business and is already preparing to participate in the next Capacity and transmission line reservation auction.

The Capacity Reserve Auction consists of contracting power for the Brazilian electrical system, aiming to guarantee the security of the country's energy supply. For this year 2023, these auctions are scheduled to take place in July and November.

“Yes, after learning from the Registry project, the company continues to evaluate new battery opportunities at different points in the network. We are very interested in being able to participate in the next capacity reserve auction. We are studying and are waiting for the necessary adjustments in regulation to be able to participate”, said the executive.

On March 24, ISA Cteep inaugurated the first battery energy storage project on a large scale of the Brazilian transmission system. The Registro Substation (SP) is one of those responsible for supplying the southern coast of São Paulo.

Broadcast auction

The company is also preparing to participate in the next transmission line auction, scheduled for June. According to Moreno, the company is evaluating several lots, and is currently in the pre-engineering phase, a process that consists of the technical and economic evaluation of projects to guide the BID.

The broadcast auction will be held at B3, in São Paulo, on June 30th. Nine lots will be offered, involving a total of 6,100 kilometers of new transmission lines and 400 megavolt-amperes (MVA) in substation transformation capacity.

You new systems will reinforce the flow capacity of electricity produced by renewable sources in the Northeast, mainly solar and wind. In total, R$ 15.8 billion is estimated in investments for project implementation, distributed across seven states: Bahia, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, Sergipe and São Paulo.

In the first quarter of 2023, ISA Cteep recorded a net profit of R$ 193.5 million, growth of 172% compared to the same period in 2022.
