JA Solar pretende expandir as vendas no Brasil para 1 GW por ano até 2024

Betting on the Brazilian photovoltaic market, photovoltaic module manufacturer JA Solar is expanding its operations in the country by increasing its business team and sales channels.

“With the completion of new factories in 2021, we are almost quadrupling production capacity from 11 GW (2020) to 40 GW (2021), maintaining a strong focus on 182 mm and high power cell super modules (540W and 485W)”, highlights Fernando Castro, country manager at JA Solar Brasil.

“This movement guarantees us product availability, which allows us to expand and expand our sales partnerships with new distributors, integrators and customers of large plants/utilities”, adds the executive.

Currently, the manufacturer has 12 manufacturing units, ten in China, one in Vietnam and one in Malaysia. “JA Solar has a differentiated position in the segment for developing and manufacturing its own wafers, cells and modules of the highest quality. The company is a leader in 182 mm cell technology with more than 770 cell and module patents, having recently reached third place in the T1 Bloomberg Ranking for the first quarter of 2021”, comments Castro.

Also according to the executive, in 2020, JA Solar sold 141 MW in Brazil and aims to achieve annual sales growth of 1 GW per year by the end of 2024. The current products, in order of highest to lowest availability, are 540W, 485W, 455W and 410W modules, both monofacial and bifacial.

Castro took on the role of country manager at JA Solar in November last year. Recently, the manufacturer hired three new sales managers, Henry Quege, Kesia Ferraz and Andre Kussama.

According to the company, business expansion has already shown positive results and will allow the formation of new sales partnerships with new distributors, integrators, partners and customers.

“The first results are the reduction in the time it takes to fulfill orders from current customers, which decreased from 90 to 120 days to 25 to 70 days depending on order quantity, power and module type”, highlights the country manager.

For the Brazilian photovoltaic market in 2021, the company made available the 540W modules and the new 485W module. The manufacturer also intends to soon announce new hires that will reinforce the commercial and marketing activities teams.
