The solar panel manufacturer Jetion supplied the modules for the Solara4 photovoltaic plant, located in Martinlongo and Vaqueiros, in Alcoutim, Portugal. The project was promoted by the sustainable investment group Welink.

According to Jetion, with 219 MW of installed power, the project is considered the largest photovoltaic plant in Portugal and the largest non-subsidized project in Europe by DGEG (Directorate-General for Energy and Geology).

Also according to DGEG, this type of project is essential for the country to decarbonize the energy sector and contribute to the renewable energy objectives established in the PNEC 2030 (National Energy and Climate Plan 2021-2030).

In the Solara4 project, around 660 thousand solar panels were used with a power between 330 W and 340 W each. Furthermore, the plant has 125 inverters, 40 transformer stations and is connected to the national grid through the Tavira substation.

In 2019, the Welink group signed a contract with the renewables company Audax that established for 20 years the sale of electrical energy produced at the Solar A4 plant and the Ourika project, for a fixed price, with an estimate of reaching 708 MW of power.
