A Jinko Solar announced that it has invested in new factories in China's Anhui and Zhejiang provinces to expand its N-cell manufacturing capacity to 16 GW by the end of 2022.

“We are investing a lot in the development of new technologies, and type N cells have come to revolutionize the solar market by bringing products with greater efficiency and energy generation using the same area”, said Gustavo Silva, Technical Services manager at Jinko.

According to him, the advanced N-type HOT 2.0 technology brings better temperature coefficients from -0.35% (P-type) to -0.30% (N-type). “In addition, N-type modules have a higher bifacial factor: 70% (P-type) to 85% (N-type), significantly optimizing power generation capacity. Therefore, this technology is the new trend for photovoltaic modules”, he concluded.

In the manufacturer's view, N-type TOPCon cells are most likely to become the second most common photovoltaic technology in the world after the PERC cell, accounting for around 15% of the global market this year.

“Compared to other new technology options, TOPCon N-type cells can be manufactured quickly and cost-effectively, providing a low-cost alternative to replace PERC as the next mainstream solution,” the company highlighted in a note.

Jinko receives order for 1.85 GW modules

Jinko also announced that it won a tender offered by CPECC (China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation), an affiliate of CNPC (China National Petroleum Corporation), specialized in project engineering and construction, for up to 1.85 GW of its high-performance photovoltaic panels. efficiency.

According to the company, this is the largest solar module acquisition of all time by CNPC. The solar panels are scheduled to be delivered during 2022 to support CNPC's solar development pipeline in China.

“It has become common practice for traditional energy companies to try to achieve their low-carbon ambitions by developing GW-scale solar power projects, while also addressing the risks and uncertainty posed by the production, pricing and supply of panels each increasingly volatile”, said the manufacturer.

“Therefore, they will be keen to commit to reliable suppliers who can provide advanced technology, quality products, as well as long-term firm pricing and supply commitments, backed by reputation. Traditional oil companies will benefit from the evolution of Jinko's advanced N-type solar technology platform,” added Jinko.

Jinko subsidiary completes IPO registration

Jinko Solar has taken a step towards listing its main operating subsidiary on the Sci-Tech Innovation Board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange (STAR Market). The company has completed its IPO registration process with the CSRC (China Securities Regulatory Commission) and will soon enter the process of issuing its IPO on the STAR market.

“We are very pleased that Jiangxi Jinko will soon enter the process of issuing its IPO and gain access to the rapidly growing capital market in China, which we believe will further strengthen our leadership in the photovoltaic industry,” highlighted Xiande Li, CEO of Jinko.
