Renewable energy transmission auction wins all lots

Competition attracts investments of R$ 15.3 billion, with emphasis on photovoltaic solar sources

A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) promoted, this Thursday (30), at the headquarters of B3, in São Paulo (SP), a broadcast auction which guaranteed approximately R$ 15.3 billion in investments for the renewable energy sector, being the solar source the main beneficiary.

This was the biggest event since 2019, with the sale of all 13 lots offered. They were 10 winning companies, common average discount of 46% is projection of generating more than 31,600 direct jobs during the construction period of the new projects.

Of the projected R$ 15.3 billion, R$ 12.27 billion will be for large transmission, capable of transporting photovoltaic solar energy in Minas Gerais (lots 1 to 3). 

“Investments in a robust transmission system will allow new investments in energy generation, mainly in the northern region of Minas Gerais, which has a low human development index (HDI), bringing more jobs and opportunities”, according to the Federal Government.

The 13 auctioned lots represent 5,425 kilometers of transmission lines and 6,180 MVA in substation transformation capacity. The winners of the concessions will be responsible for building the lines within a period ranging from 42 to 60 months. 

Transmission lines will be built in the states of Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Rondônia, Santa Catarina, São Paulo and Sergipe.

Check out the auctioned lots:

  • First lot: encompasses 13 facilities in the states of Minas Gerais and São Paulo, having been purchased by Consórcio Verde for the amount of R$ 283.3 million and with a discount of 47.34%.
  • Second batch: involved six installations in Minas Gerais and São Paulo. The winning company was Neoenergia, with a bid of R$ 360 million and a discount of 50.33%
  • Third batch: consisting of nine facilities in Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo. It was won by Isa Cteep, with a bid of R$ 285.73 million and a discount of 46.75%.
  • Fourth batch: was purchased by Zopone Engenharia for the amount of R$ 38.89 million and a discount of 5%. The contract provides for the installation of a transmission line in Amapá.
  • Fifth batch: won by Sterlite, with a bid of R$ 22 million and a discount of 26.52%. The contract provides for three facilities in Bahia and Sergipe,
  • Sixth batch: The winner was Isa Cteep, who made a bid of R$ 13.43 million and a discount of 59.21%. The lot has an installation in São Paulo.
  • Seventh batch: With an installation in Pará, it was purchased by Engie for a value of R$ 6.48 million and a discount of 59.90%.
  • Eighth batch: was purchased by Eletronorte, with a value of R$ 12.25 million and a discount of 38.57%, with two installations in Rondônia.
  • Ninth batch: The winner was Sterlite, which made a bid of R$ 87.6 million and a discount of 32.96%. The company will now have to install five facilities located in Mato Grosso and Pará.
  • Tenth batch: Formed by two facilities in Santa Catarina, the lot was won by Taesa, with a bid of R$ 18.78 million and a discount of 47.96%.
  • Eleventh batch: consisting of four facilities in Mato Grosso do Sul. It was purchased by Neonergia for R$ 38.2 million and a discount of 45.74%.
  • Twelfth batch: won by Energisa, whose bid was R$ 17.68 million and a discount of 45,26%. The company will be committed to implementing an installation in Amazonas.
  • Thirteenth batch: was purchased by Consórcio Norte for the amount of R$ 22.4 million and a discount of 31%. The lot consists of two facilities in Acre.
