The Research, Development and Innovation laboratory at Climate entered into a partnership with Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ – Brazil) and with the EPE (Energy Research Company) for the construction of the largest data base directed to solar segment and wind.
The project, which brings information from various meteorological variables that directly impact these sectors, aims to develop and make available a digital platform where a climate database will be available.
Furthermore, it brings a set of products and tools aimed at generating information that contributes to a investment planning more efficient for the sector.
“All available data will be validated using statistical techniques and available observational data, so that the final product is extremely calibrated and reliable for planning these markets”, highlighted Climatempo in a note.
On the platform, data will be available for all of Brazil over the last 40 years on wind speed and direction at different altitudes, solar radiation, among others.
“This platform should become a reference for the wind and solar sector, so that any institution can make use of it,” said the company, adding that the project has already started and should be available by the end of the year.
“This reference will bring a set of products for these segments with data based on observations, multi-models with technical-scientific methods and criteria that aim to produce inputs that contribute to an efficient allocation of public and private investments in the energy sector”, they concluded.
