Largest PV plant in terms of installed capacity on a roof in SP starts operating in the state

Udiaço's solar park is the most powerful in the São Paulo region and can supply more than 75 MWh per month
There are more than 4,300 square meters of area with an installed power of 725 kWp

Sunning Energia Solar, an integrator of photovoltaic systems, installed the highest power rooftop solar park in the state of São Paulo. There are more than 4,300 square meters of area with an installed power of 725 kWp.

The project was carried out at the headquarters of the company Udiaço, a specialist in the distribution and services market for the civil construction segment, in Carapicuíba, Greater São Paulo.

“Our average energy consumption is 85,887 kWh/month. With the photovoltaic roof, we seek to supply almost 90% of our consumption”, said Hugo Trevizan, planning director at Udiaço. “Based on the expected monthly generation variations, this index fluctuates, but with the implementation of the system, initial expectations are being exceeded”, he added.

The system was implemented during the pandemic and took around eight months to complete, including design, installation and approval by the concessionaire.

Trevizan explained that one of Udiaço's objectives with the installation was the expectation of cost reduction. “When the study was presented to us, the estimated savings for the first year were approximately R$ 350 thousand. But, with recent tariff increases, yellow, red and other flags, this gain will be even greater”, he celebrated.

But the economy was not the company's only concern, which is also concerned with the sustainable aspect of the initiative. “All electricity consumption generates a CO2 liability. Even though the Brazilian energy matrix is water-based, the process for the energy to reach our socket generates this liability”, recalled Trevizan.

“Before, we needed 3,510 trees to absorb the CO2 that we produced indirectly, due to energy consumption. Now we only need 434. And the planet thanks you”, he celebrated.
