O free energy market he was destination of 57% of all centralized solar energy production and 48% of wind generation in November 2022, against 35% and 42% respectively 12 months ago.

This is what one pointed out survey of Embraceel (Brazilian Association of Energy Traders). In total, the segment already absorbs 61% of all renewable energy generation plant production. 12 months ago, this share was 50%.

In addition to absorbing a large part of the production of photovoltaic and wind plants, the free market was also the destination for 97% of energy generated by biomass plants and 58% by small hydroelectric plants in November last year.

According to Abraceel, the importance of the free market for commercializing the production of renewable plants has grown over the last 12 months.

Between November 2021 and 2022, the free contracting environment absorbed 33.3% more of the country's renewable generation (9.4 average GW now versus 7.0 average GW before), considering the total production of centralized wind and solar projects , biomass and PCHs.

During this period, the production of centralized solar plants sold to free consumers grew by 140.4%. In the case of generation from wind farms, the growth was 16.9%.
