IP67 degree of protection Dustproof and waterproof for immersion, able to work without worrying about rain, snow or frost. This is what the Hypontech, referring to the HMS microinverter.

“Compared to string inverters, the HMS has two independent MPPTs connected to the modules, which means that each HMS works with a lower photovoltaic voltage and is safer in terms of its own characteristics”, highlighted the manufacturer.

According to the company, the equipment can be used with different sizes, powers and specifications of panels, as well as having a maximum output current of 15 A.

Additionally, the HMS is equipped with plug-and-play system and, both the HMS and the cables can be hidden directly between the module and the roof or fixed to the panel support, not taking up extra space.

Built-in Wi-Fi and component-level monitoring

Another point emphasized by the company is that each HMS is built with a wireless AP and Bluetooth module, with a transceiver antenna connected externally to reinforce communication.

“There is no need for an additional DTU connecting a communication wire for monitoring the photovoltaic system. The HMS is easy to configure and monitor on Hypon.Cloud – simply connect the HMS to your home router via the Hypon.Cloud app,” they reported.

“When the HMS is connected to such a tool, the power generated by the modules in the 2-input MPPT can be monitored in real time at any time of the day, meaning you can review the performance of each board throughout the day, giving an more accurate analysis, diagnosis and optimization of the system at each time stamp”, highlighted Hypontech.

“For example, when there is a sudden drop in the system's power generation, you can use the layout in Hypon.Cloud to see if it is a faulty connection or partially shading the modules, and thus locate the problematic panel”, they explained. .

Updated for storage systems

According to the manufacturer, each Hypontech inverter adopts a platform-based architectural design. The HMS microinverter can be integrated and paired with a range of Hypontech grid-tied inverters, AC-coupled inverters and EV (electric vehicle) charging solutions.

Furthermore, they pointed out that components can be monitored with just the Hypon.Cloud platform for cloud-based monitoring of each product.

“The photovoltaic system equipped with HMS has a microinverter for every 2 modules and can be connected in parallel, so that the solar energy production of your system works consistently”, they highlighted.

Operation at temperatures up to 40°C

While microinverters on the market generally begin to degrade at temperatures of 25-30°C, according to the company, the HMS can operate at 100% of rated power at ambient temperatures of up to 40°C.

“When the system is in long-term operation or when the ambient temperature is high, with HMS there is no need to worry about loss of efficiency and, consequently, a reduction in system performance,” the company emphasized.

“The superior design of the HMS allows for better performance at higher ambient temperatures, increasing the long-term profitability of the plant,” they added.

16 V starting voltage

With low light intensities when the sun rises or sets, or during a cloudy day, the HMS can start operating at voltages as low as 16 V, “which means the photovoltaic system can start generating power early in the morning and end later at night, even if the light conditions are not good due to shadows or rainy days”, they concluded.
