Minas Gerais and Pernambuco are already preparing to receive the implementation of a new floating solar power plant in each of their respective states.
In Minas Gerais, the Rio Grande do Sul companies Creral, an energy cooperative based in Erechim, and Mil Engenharia, based in Tapejara, have already started construction of what promises to be largest floating solar plant in the country at the municipality of Grão Mogol.
In Pernambuco, in turn, the Island of Fernando de Noronha you will win your first floating solar plant, with investment estimated from R$ 10 million, coming from the Neoenergia Pernambuco Energy Efficiency Program, regulated by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).

To build the plant, the companies responsible for the project created a consortium to carry out the works on the UFV Veredas Sol e Lares, which will have installed power of 1.2 MWp.
The assembly is being done on the water surface of the lake. PCH Santa Marta, owned by Cemig, integrating the state-owned company’s research and development program.
In total, the plant has 14 inverters, 60 thousand meters of cables, in addition to 3,050 monocrystalline photovoltaic panels (dual glass and thin film) supported on 7,600 floats in a area of 11 thousand m².
All energy generated in the GD model (distributed generation) remote self-consumption plans to serve 1,250 semi-arid families, in 21 municipalities in Minas Gerais in the regions of Vales do Jequitinhonha and Rio Pardo. The plant is expected to come into operation in the first half of 2023.
Fernando de Noronha
The plant will be used to improve the water supply on the Island and it is expected that by the end of this year the construction be initiated, with the expectation of being completed until July of next year.
The renewable energy generation system will be installed in the water mirror of the Xaréu Dam, an area of approximately 4,400 m². With 949 panels solar to be installed, the system will have a power of around 630 kWp is estimated generation of 1,238 MWh/year.
Last week, Neoenergia Pernambuco and Compesa (Companhia Pernambucana de Saneamento) signed the agreement for the construction of the floating plant. The plant will be responsible for supplying more than half of Compesa's energy consumption in Fernando de Noronha.
Generation from renewable sources will promote a reduction of 1,663 tons of CO2 issued annually in the archipelago, recognized by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) as a Natural Heritage Site of Humanity.
