Minister visits national photovoltaic module factory Sengi Solar

The manufacturer Sengi Solar received a visit from the Head of Science, Technology and Innovations, Paulo Alvim

The national solar panel manufacturer Sengi Solar, part of the Tangipar Group, received a visit this week from the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Paulo César Rezende de Carvalho Alvim and his delegation.

The factory, located in Cascavel (PR), is in the “ramp-up” phase, that is, it is in the initial phase of the production process, carrying out final tests. The company's estimate is that by the end of this month 90% of the manufacturing line will be complete, so that by October, the manufacturing unit will be operating at its maximum capacity.

According to the MCTI minister, Paulo Alvim, the unit is fundamental for the socioeconomic development of the region, as it generates more jobs and income. “Initiatives such as that of Sengi businesspeople must be strengthened, as they generate jobs that benefit all economic activity in the municipality. It’s great to see business competence and national production capacity”, stated Alvim.

According to Daniel da Rocha, president of the Tangipar Group companies, the group's aim is to gain a share of this market that requires changes in global industrialization, not only in photovoltaics, but in all sectors.

“Increasingly, there will be a need to source products from closer distribution centers. Supply difficulties encountered during the pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine greatly affected the production chain. Given this, there will be a major change in the sectors, increasing the demand for local productive alternatives”, he assessed.

“In this context, Brazil has the capacity and conditions to do very well and assume an important role in global industry. The Group invested in Sengi with the certainty that we will pursue our objectives through a modern factory, with productive capacity and quality in internal service and even in exports in a strategic sector for our country”, concluded Rocha.

The official inauguration of Sengi will be held on October 21st, but the production line will begin after the final processes have been aligned.

According to Everton Fardin, from Sengi Solar, expectations for the company's inauguration are the best possible, given that the market is heated and has bottlenecks with regard to quality national manufacturing of photovoltaic modules.

“Sengi intends to fill this gap and gain a large share of the market. As our manufacturing units were designed within the industry 4.0 concept, we will have a production rate far above that practiced in the national industry. And each of the processes will last less than 25 seconds, encompassing assembly, transformation and inspection”, commented Fardin.
