The Minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, the governor of the state of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado and the CEO of Enel Distribuição Goiás, José Luis Salas, inaugurated, this Tuesday (6), the energization works in the Castanheira settlements , Santa Clara, Egídio Brunetto, Santa Fé, Gibão, Cavalcante, Liberdade I and Liberdade II, in Flores de Goiás (GO).
The action is part of the Federal Government's Universal Access to Energy Program and will benefit 800 families, enabling access to electricity, which is now essential for the continuity of socioeconomic development actions in these communities.
“The present of these people is enlightened and the future will be even brighter. I remember the countless meetings with Enel to serve these and several other communities. This is dignity, social integration and it is the future. Goiás is in good hands with a company like Enel, which has sensitivity. People didn’t come here just to put up poles, they came to integrate communities”, said Bento Albuquerque.
According to the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy), around R$ 2 billion were invested in rural electrification in Brazil in the last two years.
