A Neoenergia announced, this Tuesday (31), the start of energization and test operation of its first solar parks. The project was built in the municipality of Santa Luzia (PB) and commercial operations are expected to begin in July.
A Neoenergia Luzia marks the company's entry into GC (centralized generation), with a total of 149.3 MW of installed power capacity.
The complex has around 228,700 bifacial solar panels. All energy generated in Neoenergia Luzia's solar plants will be allocated to the ACL (Free Contracting Environment), with 100% already sold by 2026.
According to Laura Porto, director of Renewables at Neoenergia, “the advancement of renewable energy projects is part of Neoenergia's strategy, in order to expand generation from clean sources in the country”.
Also according to the director, the project plays a very important role in the sustainable development of the Brazilian electricity sector, since the current global scenario is the acceleration of the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Currently, Neoenergia is the second largest energy distribution company in Brazil and is committed to the demand for efficient and sustainable energy supply in an integrated manner.
The company invested a total of R$ 808 million in the renewables segment in this first quarter of 2022, in addition to developing other projects, such as Neoenergia Chafariz.
Furthermore, progress was made in the construction of Neoenergia Oitis, a wind complex with 12 parks located between Bahia and Piauí, making it the company's largest wind asset in the country.
From these three projects, the company will reach more than 90% of its installed clean energy capacity.
According to Neoenergia, “this delivery reinforces, once again, Neoenergia's ability to execute its strategic plan and its commitment to the rate of return on its projects”.
