A Aldo Solar announced Thiago Varanda as new commercial director from the company. The professional has more than 15 years of experience in the energy sector, having worked in the oil and gas and nuclear segments and, specifically since 2015, has been present in the solar energy market, working with integrators, EPCists, manufacturers and distributors.

According to Aldo Solar, Varanda arrives to take over as commercial director, using his ability to develop new businesses and innovative strategies to promote the company's sustainable growth. To do this, the professional will use his master's degree in Renewable Energy from the Ibero-American University, his postgraduate degree in Equipment and Material Inspections from SENAI and his training as a Finance analyst from FGV (Fundação Getúlio Vargas).

In an interview with Solar Channel, Varanda revealed the prospects for his arrival at the company and the company's plans. “It is a pleasure to be at Aldo because of what the company has built over the years and even more so with the arrival of the Brookfield group, in 2021, and the recent creation of Descarbonize, owner of Aldo Solar and Sol Agora. It is a new moment for the distributed generation market and we will develop solutions and products that will further help integrators and end customers”, he highlighted.

“Aldo already has a very strong track record with the integrator offering single-phase and three-phase solutions focusing on rooftop projects. From now on, we will serve medium and large projects in DG (distributed generation) as we understand that the segment has many opportunities. Aldo continues to be the leader, but now a leader offering more solutions”, said Varanda.

“We want to serve those who come with plant investments, who are looking at solar not only in terms of energy, credit or building the plant based on their load, but rather looking for it as an investment, understanding that it is a financial solution”, he added.

Still according to him, Aldo is developing a channel for large plants, “precisely for those larger DGs that need a partnership identity, a recurrence of materials. Our company already has absolute potential, delivering gigabytes of projects every year. This means that we can offer a complete and suitable solution for each type of project”, he emphasized.

Varanda also highlighted that the company is focused on consolidating its operations in the Brazilian market as a distributor of photovoltaic equipment. “We are strengthening the distribution channel. Aldo is very strong in this and little is said about it. So, we are strengthening this channel with the manufacturers we have distribution partnerships with.”

The executive also commented on the electric mobility segment. According to him, today, Aldo Solar offers the Brazilian market fast and slow charging solutions, for residential and commercial lines.

Varanda also highlighted the synergy of solar energy with electrification, since it is advantageous to be the producer of the energy that will be used to fuel the electric vehicle.

“If I have an electric car, I try to have energy generation. For example, I have chargers at my home because when I need to charge my vehicle I can be autonomous. In other words, the biggest point of having an electric car is that you can produce your own energy”, he highlighted.

Finally, Aldo Solar's new commercial director spoke about the company's presence in offering storage solutions. “There was an experience over the weekend in São Paulo where millions of people were left without power. For this, we have storage solutions, in addition to on grid, hybrid, off grid and electric mobility solutions”, he concluded.

For Nuno Verças, CEO of Descarbonize, owner of the brands Aldo Solar, Sol Agora and LADO, the numbers only reveal that, even with some adversities faced by the sector in the first half of the year, the potential of distributed photovoltaic generation will continue to grow in Brazil. .

“We have a lot to grow and Varanda’s arrival to Aldo’s commercial team is part of our plan to strengthen the company’s sales force. We can grow on different fronts and Varanda brings important experience to us”, explains Verças.
