Sistema on-grid, o que é e para que serve?

On-grid photovoltaic systems are systems connected to the public electricity distribution network. The energy captured by the sun is converted into electricity, making it possible to be used by the property itself, and the remaining energy is delivered to the concessionaire, which grants credits to the consumer.

This type of system works using specific equipment, such as photovoltaic modules, which convert solar radiation, generating electricity into direct current (DC).

For solar energy to be transformed into energy distributed to consumer units, it is necessary to use a solar inverter, which converts direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC).

Different from the photovoltaic system off-grid, which stores energy in solar batteries, the on-grid system transfers it to the electrical grid, generating energy credits, enabling subsequent use.

The cost of installing an on-grid solar photovoltaic system is calculated by the value of labor, added to the types, power and number of equipment that will be used in the project.

Advantages and disadvantages

It is essential to know what the system can offer and what its limitations are when choosing whether or not to install a photovoltaic system.

The on-grid photovoltaic system has advantages such as higher efficiency in 30%, when compared to the off-grid system, in addition to allowing the use of the credit system.

On the other hand, the on-grid system requires connection to the public distribution network and does not have an energy storage system.

However, it is not necessary to invest in photovoltaic batteries, reducing the cost of installing the system.

Furthermore, according to Article 14 of Decree-Law No. 5,163, of 2004, which defines distributed generation, the on-grid system offers a considerable reduction in the electricity bill, through the use of energy credits.
