What’s missing for energy storage to take off in Brazil?

According to the BNEF (BloombergNEF), energy storage facilities will reach 358 GW by the end of 2030 worldwide, more than twenty times the 17 GW at the end of 2020.

In Brazil, projections of NewCharge Energy point out that this market could reach a generation capacity of 18 GWh and a turnover of more than R$ 40 billion by 2030.

There is no doubt that the scenario is encouraging. However, for battery storage to take off and reach these milestones, some incentives are needed. This is what Alexandre Correa, director of Brasal Energia, said.
