OIW Telecom announced entry into the solar energy market

Technology company aims to maximize management and enters the photovoltaic market

A OIW Telecom Solutions, a distributor of fiber optic equipment, announced its entry into the photovoltaic market with the launch of OIW Solar, its new unit focusing on photovoltaic sources.

Also according to the company, the infrastructure present in the field of foreign trade and OIW port operations will be reused. Since its founding, the company has transported more than one million kilometers of optical fiber in the five regions.

The company enters a market where around 10 thousand companies currently operate in Brazil, according to ABSOLATE (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association).

Partnerships and contracts

According to OIW, since 2018 the company has been studying the solar energy market to verify how to best serve different niches with different scales, from residential consumer to large plants

To promote this start, it entered into a partnership with three international manufacturers of modules and inverters: Risen, DAH Solar It is Growatt. The contract with these companies offers OIW 10 and 12 years of support for these goods and security for the distributor's work units.

For Leandro Farina, manager of OIW Solar, the company's strategic advantages will ensure logistics and capillarity processes. “In addition to the financial backing and our international reputation as an importer, we have presence and flow points close to the country's major ports,” stated Farina.

The company has one of the largest storage areas for national technology items, with 14 thousand meters of warehouse distributed in Rio Grande do Sul, Minas Gerais, Bahia, Ceará, Mato Grosso and Santa Catarina.

Evaluating ABSOLAR's indices, this year collectors on residential roofs could reach a potential of 17.2 GW, increasing their capacity by 70%. “These factors come together with the cheaper cost of kits and the good guarantee of compensation offered by energy companies”, highlighted Farina.

The executive concluded by saying that this shift in energy self-production is favored by excessive increase in energy costs electricity alongside product knowledge, enabling the culture of self-production.
