The Brazilian solar energy market has broken yet another barrier. Last Thursday (25), the Tigo Energy, a manufacturer of solar equipment, announced the global launch of the new TS4-AO optimizer, which supports photovoltaic panels with power up to 700 W.
“The optimizer is important for the Brazilian market, as it enables the use of TS4's with a wider range of photovoltaic modules. With the growth of the Brazilian solar market, high-power modules are becoming more present in projects, especially in power plant projects.” highlights Márcia Cesare, operational director of Latam at Tigo.
According to the manufacturer, the optimizer has a manual and automatic shutdown function, monitoring to monitor energy production and system management, in addition to an easy-to-fix structure.
Also according to Tigo, the optimizer's maximum current is 15 A and the maximum voltage is 80 V. The equipment works with the same CCA and TAP, MC4 connectors and IP68 water and dust ingress rating.
The optimizer configuration is done using a mobile device with an Android or iOS system, in addition, the product is certified by the CIE (International Electrotechnical Commission) and backwards compatible for use with older modules.
“This is a huge technical achievement by our team and lays the foundation for Tigo’s success with our MLPE family of next generation photovoltaic modules,” says Zvi Alon, President and CEO of Tigo.
The launch was international, starting in Australia and South America, then Europe. The 700W TS4-AO is now open for new orders as stock is consumed with delivery expected at the end of Q2 2021.
Currently, Tigo equipment is distributed by Phb, Stark, Solar Brasil, Automatic, Aldo and Sices.
