The project foresees the production of around 600 generation systems per month

The number of solar energy generating units in Ceará more than doubled from 2019 to 2020. According to data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), during the period the number rose from 4,346 to 10,397, an increase of 139.23%.

And to increase that number The Government of Ceará and the company Renovigi Energia Solar signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) to install a solar energy generator manufacturing complex in the state, with the implementation of a photovoltaic systems production unit and a distribution center.

The objective of the measure is to encourage local development through renewable sources. The project foresees the production of around 600 generation systems per month, that is, approximately 7.2 thousand systems per year.

“Attracting investments to the state and expanding job creation for Ceará residents is our priority”, stated the governor of Ceará, Camilo Santana, after the ceremony held last Friday (25), at the Palácio da Abolição, headquarters of the government.

The first step will be to installation of a production unit, which will facilitate Renovigi’s logistics. According to the manufacturer, the new industrial assembly unit targets the potential for business growth in the Northeast Region.

“The choice of Ceará was strategic for Renovigi, both due to the state’s renewable energy incentive programs and also due to its infrastructure. The production unit will be located within the Pecém Industrial and Port Complex, which will make it easier for raw materials to arrive from Asia via ships that will dock at the port. In this first stage of installation, production and distribution of materials, we are anticipating an investment of R$ 150 million”, stated the president of Renovigi, Gustavo Müller Martins.
