The water park Thermas Water Park São Pedro (SP) built a photovoltaic plant with the aim of using natural resources efficiently, aiming to help reduce the release of carbon dioxide and, in this way, contributing to the reduction of environmental impact.
The project occupies a total area of 12 thousand square meters, with a production capacity of 1,146 MW per year, equivalent to 60% of the park's annual energy consumption.
The equipment used in the project was the SUN 2000-185 KTL-H1 Huawei inverter and the Astronergy CHSM6612P/HV 330P 1500V polycrystalline PV module.
According to park representatives, the investment in installing the solar plant, built between March and May 2020, resulted in a good return in relation to the objective of maintaining socio-environmental responsibility.
Therefore, the complex intends to continue contributing to the environment. With planning already underway to expand the project, it is planned to install a second solar plant in the park, with an estimate of tripling the volume of energy production capacity.
“As a company we are responsible for helping the environment. This investment is in line with our park's internal sustainability and socio-environmental responsibility policies. We always need to take care of the future of the next generations. The important thing is always not how much we invest, but why we invest”, said Silvia Andrade, founding partner of Thermas Water Park São Pedro.
“Our goal is to be entirely self-sustainable and that is why we have already started the project to duplicate this station. We are sure that we are contributing, not only to our country, but to the world”, he concluded.
