PL approved in Maranhão encourages the use of solar energy

The proposal aims to stimulate energy in urban and rural areas of the State

Last Wednesday (1st), the Plenary of ALEMA (Legislative Assembly of Maranhão) approved, in the second round, the PL 535/2021, which encourages the installation of solar panels. According to the deputy Aristo Ribeiro (PSB), author of the project, the proposal aims to encourage energy in urban and rural areas of the State

He highlights that the Bill makes it possible to authorization of credits for the installation of systems, who will be responsible for the Executive Branch. The proposal also determines the carrying out of advertisements that encourage the use of solar energy, with educational and awareness actions regarding the sustainable development.

In addition, materials on the advantages of using in homes, businesses, industries and rural properties, in addition to guidance on installation and technical assistance.

“It is necessary to expand publicity about the advantages of this type of energy so that a larger portion of the population can become interested in this technology and facilitate access to the installation. In the long term, the consumer will have great savings, as the panels will constantly be generating energy, but the initial cost is still an obstacle to realizing the interest”, argues the deputy.

Survey carried out by Canal Solar with data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), Maranhão occupies 14th position in national GD ranking solar (distributed generation), with around 274.19 MW of installed power, representing 2.5% of power in the national territory.
