President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) sent the federal Senate the names of the professionals who must make up the board of directors of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) from the second half of this year. The names indicated were published in the DOU (Official Gazette of the Union).

The person nominated to fill the position of General Directorate is the current director Sandoval by Araújo Feitosa Neto, which ends its term in May 2022. The engineer is tipped to replace André Pepitone, who is expected to end his term in August this year.

Pepitone has already served two terms as director and one as general director, which prevents him from returning to the position. He is expected to step down before the end of his term to take on a Itaipu board.

The presidency also sent to the Senate the reappointment of the director Hélvio Guerra, in addition to indicating the new names:

  • Ricardo Lavorato Tili, to hold the position of director, in the vacancy arising from the end of the term of office of Sandoval de Araújo Feitosa Neto on May 24, 2022;
  • Fernando Luiz Mosna Ferreira Da Silva, to hold the position of director, in the vacancy resulting from the end of Efrain Pereira da Cruz's term of office on August 13, 2022;
  • Agnes Maria De Aragão da Costa, to hold the position of director, in the vacancy resulting from the end of Elisa Bastos Silva's term of office on December 2, 2022.

The nominees will be questioned by the senators. After approval, nominations will be put to vote in the Senate Plenary.
