A Bluesun Solar will distribute the box strings from Proauto Electric in its solar energy kits throughout Brazil. The partnership was signed last week between the distributor and the photovoltaic equipment supplier.

“Our integrators can now count on Proauto string boxes in our kits, which guarantees greater safety in projects being installed throughout Brazil. The choice aims to provide more safety and quality in one of the parts of the system, which is essential for the safety of the project”, said engineer Roberto Caurim, CEO of Bluesun.

According to Miguel Franco, CEO of Proauto, the string boxes supplied by the company are made of German components from Dehn, a renowned brand in the photovoltaic market, which will guarantee greater safety in the kits distributed by Bluesun.

“It is an honor to supply Proauto string boxes to one of the largest distributors of solar energy systems in the country, as we are committed to quality and Bluesun is aligned with our values”, said Miguel Franco, CEO of Proauto.

What is string box?

The string box is the protection component for the DC cabling part of the photovoltaic system. It connects the cables coming from the photovoltaic modules to the inverter, while providing overvoltage and overcurrent protection and allowing circuit isolation.

You basic elements of a string box they are:

  • Enclosure – where the protection devices and electrical connections will be located;
  • Disconnecting device – which can be implemented with a disconnecting switch or circuit breaker;
  • DPS (Surge Protection Device);
  • Overcurrent protection device – circuit breaker or fuse;
  • DC cables.

Franco explains that the string box is the equipment that protects both the installation and the solar panels from electrical discharges received or generated by the magnetic field of the wires.

“If they are next to alternating current, it protects the installation against possible atmospheric discharges. As it is a system that generates energy and works with high loads, which can cause fire and put several lives at risk, the String Box needs to be of high quality and reliability for the system to function correctly and safely.”, explains the CEO from ProAuto.
