The Government of Mato Grosso do Sul (MS) announced, early this Friday morning (25), that the demand for photovoltaic systems for DG (distributed generation) plants grew by more than 25% in the State between the end of last year and March of this year.
Currently, the generation of electrical energy through solar panels is already widespread in all 79 municipalities in Mato Grosso do Sul, with 26,678 plants distributed.
According to the State, there were 21,309 units at the end of 2021 and this number has already reached 26,678 units installed by March 2022, totaling a potential of 270,990 KWp of energy generation.
Most of these DG plants (around 42% of the total) are concentrated in the cities of Campo Grande (7,337), Dourados (3,917) and Três Lagoas (1,334), according to data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).
In the State's understanding, the high demand for equipment is due to the increasingly popularization of systems and the incentives that have been granted to consumers.

Jaime Verruck, Secretary of Environment, Economic Development, Production and Family Agriculture of Mato Grosso do Sul, remembers, for example, that the production of energy from clean and renewable sources gained more incentives at the end of 2021 with Law No. 5,807, sanctioned by governor Reinaldo Azambuja on December 16.
“This legislation established the MS Renovável (State Incentive Program for the Development of Renewable Sources of Electric Energy Production) and is already one of the actions resulting from the MS Carbon Neutral State Plan – PROCLIMA, which aims to make Mato Grosso do Sul, even the year 2030, a territory that neutralizes its carbon emissions”, said the secretary.
