The governor of Paraná, Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior, last week sanctioned Law No. 20,435, which guarantees the continuity of the Rural Night Tariff program until 2022.
The forecast is a discount of 60% on the electricity bill consumed between 9:30 pm and 6 am. The measure benefits approximately 11 thousand rural producers in the state.
The discount is on the tariff and the additional tariff flag for consumer units, linked to the same CPF or CNPJ, that consume up to 6 GWh/month.
The entry of new beneficiaries into the Rural Night Tariff program is subject to budgetary and financial availability.
“We are guaranteeing the subsidy and at the same time looking for ways to encourage farmers in Paraná to generate renewable energy,” said Governor Ratinho Junior.
The Paraná Renewable Rural Energy program, created by Law No. 20,435, aims to support DG (distributed generation) of electrical energy from renewable sources and biogas and biomethane in rural production units.
The expectation of the Government of Paraná is that, little by little, consumers will migrate from the Rural Night Tariff program to Paraná Energia Rural Renovável.
“We have the most sustainable agriculture in the world. And we want to evolve even further in the coming years”, highlighted the governor.
Consumers who request migration from the Rural Night Tariff to Paraná Energia Rural Renovável will continue to enjoy the benefits for up to six months, starting from the day following approval of the request.
Paraná Renewable Rural Energy
The program aims to expand the supply of energy in rural areas of Paraná, through the use of available sources, especially solar and biomass.
According to the government of Paraná, it will be complemented in 2021, with the launch of the Farmer's Bank and will be regulated by the Executive Branch.
The idea is to provide financing lines and equalization of interest rates, tax incentives and credit utilization, a public register of companies and professionals qualified to prepare and execute projects.
In addition, promotional content will be disseminated to encourage the adoption of renewable energy sources by producers, their organizations and representative entities.
