ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) approved this Tuesday (12) the reopening of the public consultation process to analyze the transmission auction notice scheduled for December. The holding of the auction depends, however, on the decision of the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy), which suspended new hiring in the sector, for an indefinite period, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The event will offer investors contracts for the construction and future operation of projects that will require total investments of R$ 10.15 billion, expected to generate around 21,300 direct jobs.
The projects are intended to contract electricity transmission facilities located in 11 States – Amazonas, Bahia, Ceará, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and São Paulo. The delivery time for the works varies from 42 to 60 months.
Altogether they are 15 lots made available in the notice under analysis: six from the first auction, previously scheduled for July, and nine projects that would already be offered at the end of the year.
ANEEL will discuss the auction rules with the sector for a period of 45 days of public consultation, between May 14th and June 20th.
