Auction aims to rent minigeneration systems for public buildings in the municipality

The city of Belo Horizonte (MG) has extended until September 3rd the opening of proposals for contracting solar energy for public buildings (Electronic Auction No. 041/2021). Interested parties can submit their proposals until 8am on September 3rd via the website www.licitacoes-e.com.br. The opening will be held at 10am.

The tender is for the rental of solar energy minigeneration systems in remote self-consumption mode to serve the municipality's UCs (Consumer Units). Those interested in participating in the auction must have an identification key and personal password obtained from Banco do Brasil.

“With the tender, the City of Belo Horizonte seeks to combine financial savings, socio-environmental awareness and self-sustainability, through the generation and consumption of energy from renewable sources”, states João Antônio Fleury, Secretary of Finance of Belo Horizonte.

Also according to Fleury, in the initial phase of the project, energy consumption savings will be focused on public buildings in the municipal education network. The secretary also stated that more than 300 teaching units will benefit from the use of photovoltaic energy. “The intention is to, in the future, extend the project and bring savings in electricity costs to various public facilities in the City Hall”, he highlights.

Fleury also highlights that savings of at least 30% are estimated in relation to the municipality's current expenditure on electricity. Requests for clarifications regarding the bidding process must be submitted by the 3rd business day prior to the opening date of the public session by email [email protected] or be delivered directly to the Central Protocol of the Municipal Finance Secretariat, located at Rua Espírito Santo, 605, Centro, Belo Horizonte, from 8am to 5pm.
