Ranking de Potência Instalada no Brasil

A solar energy in Brazil has shown considerable growth, seeking a leading role and being used mostly in homes, as an alternative to help reduce electricity bill.

The solar source occupies the 5th position in the Brazilian electrical matrix, with 15.3 GW of installed capacity in operation, and estimates are for even greater progress.

Although represented by only 1.7% of the energy matrix, due to the various economic and environmental benefits that the renewable energy source offers, the number of photovoltaic systems installed in Brazilian territory has expanded, with emphasis on the South and Southeast regions of the country.

Brazil has a large solar energy production capacity and has some benefits favorable to the solar sector.

Considering that solar incidence levels in Brazil are higher than those in countries that develop photovoltaic projects more frequently, such as Germany, France and Spain, the country has extensive energy potential from solar energy.

In April this year, Brazil reached 15.3 GW of operational solar photovoltaic sources.

A ABSOLATE (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association) released, in May, data considering the installed powers in Brazilian states.

According to the research, the state of Minas Gerais occupies first place in the national ranking, with 1,730 MW. São Paulo registered 1,323 MW, taking second place on the podium and, finally, there is Rio Grande do Sul, with 1,170 MW.
