The state of Alagoas ended 2019 with the mark of 81% of energy use through renewable resources. This is what BEAL (Alagoas Energy Balance), published annually by Sedetur (Secretariat of State for Economic Development and Tourism) pointed out.

“We are moving towards structuring, increasingly, an assertive public policy for planning productive sectors and disseminating the State’s potential. The number consolidated in BEAL shows that Alagoas is effectively advancing with good practices for the benefit of society as a whole, generating more work and investment”, highlighted Caio Uchôa, superintendent of Suem (Energy and Mining Superintendence) at Sedetur.

The initiative is part of the state government's plan to expand renewable sources in Alagoas. Since 2016, projects have been carried out to promote communities, associations and cooperatives.

Currently, the state has 2,224 photovoltaic plants. In total, 3,793 consumer units benefit from the use of clean and renewable energy.
