Resun Solar targets energy storage market in Brazil

The manufacturer announced the expansion of its factory, located in Changzhou, China, to meet new demand

A Resun Solar announced that it will expand its photovoltaic module factory, located in the city of Changzhou, China, aiming to meet the demands of the Brazilian market.

Expected to be completed in the second half of 2023, the manufacturer will expand the area with the new segment in energy storage. “It will be built in a new area of approximately 47,000 m², including 2 GW capacity in solar panels, and we will enter with a new battery production line with a capacity of 1 GW”, comments Susan Feng, vice president of Resun Solar.

According to company information, the new models will be customized and should reach around 10 kW, 15 kW, 20 kW, 30 kW, among other powers. “We believe in great growth in the Brazilian market for charge storage using batteries. With this, we will bring complete solutions to the sector”, says the executive.

Other Investments

Betting on new technologies, the vice president also confirms the arrival of new N-Type cells, which will be part of the brand's new line of TOPCon modules for the Brazilian market. And it also highlights the efficiency of 25% in addition to a lower annual depreciation percentage.

In a note, the company states that in 30 years of using the equipment, the product can reach 87.4% production, resulting in a lower depreciation of 0.03% per year.

“Mass production will be completed in the second half of 2023, where it will feature 585 Wp and 690 Wp panels, using new technologies in construction and attracting more companies in the industrial chain, thus accelerating the process of high-quality modules”, he concludes.
