Risen Energy announces line of photovoltaic modules above 500 Wp

The modules are expected to be available on the market from January 2021

Last week, Risen Energy announced the launch of photovoltaic solar panels of up to 500 Wp, manufactured with a 210 mm M12 wafer and half-cell and mono perc technologies.

The modules are expected to be available on the market from January 2021. The modules will use larger cells, known as the M12 standard, which are 210 mm wide instead of the 156 mm of a traditional cell.

THeterojunction technology adds more than one light-to-electricity conversion layer to the module, typically combining thin film layers with traditional crystalline silicon layers.

The addition of layers means that the module can absorb a wider range of light frequencies, consequently improving its efficiency.

Talso launched new 440 Wp half-cell modules using HJT technology, or, heterojunction, whichand will be sold in Europe and the United States, and have a conversion efficiency of up to 21.6%.

According to the manufacturer, this technology can improve the final cost of energy production by 7.8% compared to traditional modules.

Risen further stated that the 210mm M12 wafers will usher in the era of 600+ Wp modules. With this new cell option, a 60-cell panel is expected to achieve up to 625 Wp of power.
