High costs with professional turnover in companies can reach 70%

A negligence in this process is mainly responsible for the high rates of turnover, which can reach 70% per year in some companies.

This was one of themes exploited by Pedro Drummond, CEO of RH Renováveis, last Tuesday (21) on the Podcast Sun Talk.

He highlighted during the conversation that a search carried out by Page Personnel, in 2018, pointed that about 90% of the collaborators they are turned off of companies by behavioral questions.

At assessment of Drummond, that occurs because hiring, most of the time, is made from technical requirements, known as "hard skills”. These skills can, and should, be assessed, but no as main requirement, especially because, for the most part, they can be trained. 

In contrast, the behavioral skills (“soft skills”), more important for the sustainability of partnership between the collaborator and the company, they are little explored by the contractors.

The CEO stated although, to have more success in the hiring, it is essential to evaluate the behavior of the professionals, the connection between the goals and the values of the person with the company's organizational culture.

He also suggested that, when prioritize hiring based on behavioral skills and invest in development in Technical abilities, the companies will find one model a lot more assertive at training of the teams and best results The long term.

Another relevant fact mentioned by Drumond is that, in selection processes managed by RH Renováveis, approximately 60% of positions they are related with the area commercial, followed by vacancies in engineering (15%) and positions management (10%)

The CEO stated also that one of the main mistakes at hiring in sellers is when the company asks for a portfolio in customers as prerequisite for the professional.

Another error mentioned, which leads to great turnover in professionals in companies, it is to forget to focus on a good management for your team. 

This point is more important to stay looking for super professionals or technical knowledge very accurate. One efficient management, based on indicators, routines It is engagement, allows for more predictability and better results.
