A RZK Energy and the RaiaDrogasil Group signed a agreement for expand the supply of clean energy for more than 600 pharmacies in the network in the capitals of São Paulo, Paraná and Santa Catarina.

Electrical energy will be generated from DG plants (distributed generation) and with production carried out close to the center of consumption, reducing costs and avoiding technical losses in the distribution and transmission processes.

Das five plants planned, four are already in operation or in the final phase for operation. The units generate an annual generation of 36.4 GWh, coming from solar sources and biogas, produced from landfills.

One of the solar energy plants is located in Céu Azul (PR), with an installed capacity of 4.26 MW. Another two will come into operation in the second half of the year, one of them located in the city of Guatambu (SC) and the other in Embu Guaçu (São Paulo).

According to RZK Energia, DG plants must avoid the emission of more than 1,500 tons of CO₂ per year, the equivalent of planting 9,200 trees.

Ricardo Valente, Commercial Director at RZK Energia, highlights that private investment in clean energy sources contributes not only to the adoption of a renewable matrix, but also to the creation of jobs and income generation for several families.

“Those who adopt the DG model, in addition to reducing electrical losses and minimizing environmental impacts, are also gaining agility in meeting their demands and reliability in energy generation, as this model has its own supply sources”, he explains. the executive.

Goals

Since 2021, RaiaDrogasil has had public commitments associated with its sustainability strategy. Among them, having 90% of its own units consuming electrical energy from renewable sources by 2030.

Today, the network includes in the project the implementation of 68 distributed generation plants, with photovoltaic generation, PCH (small hydroelectric plants) and biogas, which will be distributed throughout the national territory until the end of the project.

Currently, there are 1,892 pharmacies connected to the DG plants, representing 67% of the network's pharmacy network. In addition to the environmental benefits, the company also benefits from a cost reduction of 20%, on average, compared to the captive energy market.
