The minister of Mines and Energy, Adolfo Sachsida, announced the creation of four working groups, together with entities and companies that make up the energy sector, for the construction of ten bills with the aim of improving the Brazilian energy legal framework.
The announcement took place during the opening of the Clean, Renewable Energy and Zero Emissions Forum 2050, promoted by INEL (National Institute of Clean Energy) last Wednesday (13), in Brasília (DF).
The event brought together the main institutions in the sector in the country to discuss strategies to achieve a clean and sustainable 100% energy matrix.
Today, in Brazil, the participation of renewable sources in the national electricity matrix represents around 80% of the total. During his speech, the minister highlighted the importance of the environmental agenda for the government and invited forum participants to discuss the sector's needs for six months.
“Of course, we disagree about a lot of things, that’s natural. But we can fight all our lives or sit together for six months and find our consensus. I commit to, on November 10th, picking up 10 bills that we will build together and take to the next government team, whoever it may be”, stated Sachsida.
Also according to the minister, four large groups will be formed in the coming days: mining, oil and gas, energy planning and energy. Heber Galarce, president of INEL (National Institute of Clean Energy), assessed the minister's initiative as positive and extremely important. “Having a commitment like this made during an event with the main representatives of sustainable energy sources in the country, shows the government's commitment to achieving the zero emission goal”, he stated.
For the federal deputy Lafayette de Andrada, president of FPMels (Parliamentary Front for Clean and Sustainable Energy), with 85% of the renewable energy matrix, Brazil now needs to go through a modernization process. “We need to promote regulation, legislation that unlocks ventures in this segment. Brazil has a very strong natural vocation for clean energy, but it is necessary to enable and encourage new projects in the sector”, he said.
The forum was attended by the General Director of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), Camila Bonfim; of the Vice President of Government and Environmental Sustainability at Banco do Brasil, Antonio Junior; and the head of the Regional Program for Latin America and the Caribbean at Irena (International Agency for Renewable Energy), Jose Toron.
Another highlight of the event was the discussion on the obstacles to the development of clean and renewable energy in Brazil, which included the participation of Abiogas (Brazilian Biogas Association), Abren (Brazilian Association for Waste Energy Recovery), Abrapch (Brazilian Association of Small Hydroelectric Plants and Hydroelectric Generators), ABEEólica (Brazilian Wind Energy Association), Abragel (Brazilian Clean Energy Generation Association) and ABVE (Brazilian Electric Vehicle Association).

Well, I see it as an advance for the sector, but in the photovoltaic market we are still being the most harmed, as the main consortiums are blaming the sun for what it is at all.
