Santander opens financing line of R$ 560 million for renewable sources

Santander Brasil received from IFC (International Finance Corporation), a member of the World Bank Group, a financing line of approximately R$ 560 million to boost access to credit for small and medium enterprises. Of this total, half will be used for the sale of photovoltaic panels.

The loan is valid for one year and can be renewed once, for a period of another 12 months. This is the bank's third transaction with IFC since 2017.

“Financing green credit lines at this moment it is essential to support the transition to a cleaner economy, in addition to being part of our strategy, it contributes to a virtuous cycle of resumption of activity in the country. This new partnership with IFC allows us to expand our operations on this important front”, highlighted Franco Fasoli, director of Companies, Governments & Institutions at Santander Brasil.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has been affecting economies around the world, leaving companies particularly vulnerable. That is why, in addition to catalyzing green projects, the IFC financing line will allow Santander to support small and medium-sized companies, including those owned by women entrepreneurs, enabling the continuity of their businesses and the preservation of jobs”, highlighted Rogério Santos, IFC executive responsible for the Financial Institutions area for Brazil.

Santander extends deadline for GD financing

Santander Financiamentos extended the payment plan for photovoltaic equipment from 60 to 72 months. Furthermore, it announced that it extended the grace period for the due date of the first installment from 90 to 120 days.

According to the bank, the new deadlines serve companies from all segments and individuals who plan to install a photovoltaic system at home. To access financing lines, you do not need to be an account holder. Santander.

Santander Brasil is one of the pioneers in financing solar energy generation projects, from large plants to the sale of photovoltaic panels to small farmers.

Regarding wind energy, the company has already financed 285 wind farms, which account for 30% of the installed wind energy capacity in Brazil.
