With the aim of encouraging the use of renewable energy and integrating it into the Investment Partnership Program in the city, São José dos Campos (SP) approved this Tuesday (10) the public competition for the construction of a solar plant.
The winning bid process was Cápua Projetos e Construções Ltda. Through a concession, through which the city hall will make a payment for the company's remuneration, the contract will be for 26 years with expected investments reaching R$ 53.3 million over the period.
Furthermore, the company is expected to invest a total of R$ 12.7 million for construction and start-up of services.
The city council estimates that with the implementation of the photovoltaic plant, savings of around 25% will be achieved on the electricity bill and will supply approximately 30% of the energy consumed by the municipality's public buildings.
According to the Municipal Administration, the photovoltaic plant project will have the capacity to generate up to 4.73 GWh.
