SGS advances in the energy transition at units in Brazil

Two units of SGS, a company specializing in testing, inspection and certification, are now operating 100% with solar energy.

The branches in Rio Grande and Esteio, in Rio Grande do Sul, together have an area of 636 square meters and have 212 modules of photovoltaic panels.

Furthermore, the company announced that it will enter the free energy market, starting with three branches later this year.

The first to join the ACL (Free Contracting Environment) was the Piracema unit, in the metropolitan region of the city of São Paulo, and the Piracicaba and Santos branches, will join the system by July, projecting a combined savings of around R$ 500 thousand in 2024 alone.

The transition to renewable energy at units in Brazil represents a significant advance in SGS's sustainability strategy (Sustainability Ambitions 2030), aligned with SGS's Sustainable Development Goals. UN, and which aims to generate impact for the entire society.

Furthermore, the company operates with a wide range of international certifications (ISO 140001, 50001, 20121, AS 8000, FSC, PEFC, etc.), independent audits, verification of sustainability reports, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), services carbon emissions, consultancy and training in sustainability.
