Shell surpasses 1.1 GW in photovoltaic energy grants in MG

Shell registered 511 MW in new grant requests for the installation of solar photovoltaic plants in Minas Gerais. With this, the company has 24 orders representing 1.1 GW of power in the state of Minas Gerais. All are for independent production.

According to Shell, requests for 11 new projects in the city of Arinos (MG) were registered with ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency). The new order provides for the installation of the Draco solar complex, with 10 plants with an installed capacity of 48.7 MW and one with 24 MW of power.

The company had already registered ten photovoltaic plants in the municipality of Várzea da Palma. Each project has an installed capacity ranging from 46 MW to 49 MW and, together, they total 467 MW.

In April, Shell also requested the grant to implement three photovoltaic plants, with 50 MW each, in Brasilândia de Minas, which is 500 km from Belo Horizonte, named Aquarii I, II and III.

Minas Gerais is consolidated as Shell's main bet for photovoltaic solar energy generation.
