Invest in energy efficiency projects that contribute to sustainability and cost reduction. This has been the plan of several states in Brazil.
Recently, for example, the Government of Tocantins opened Public Consultation for the implementation, operation and maintenance of photovoltaic plants in part of state public bodies.

The city hall of city of Brotas (SP) was not left out either. The Authority built a 100 kWp plant at the Miguel Osti bus station to reduce the CIP bill (public lighting contribution), which is the fee charged every month on the energy bill.
Now, another city hall is looking to solar energy as a way to save on electricity bills. Last week, Tião Bocalom, mayor of Rio Branco (AC), held a meeting with José Adriana Silva, president of Energisa Acre, to install a photovoltaic system.
According to Bocalom, the objective of building this project, with resources that the management already has, is to compensate for the electricity costs that the city hall currently consumes.
Total invested by Rio Branco
In total, between R$ 11 and R$12 million must be invested for the implementation of the solar photovoltaic complex, which must have 2 MW of installed power.
“This will certainly offset much of the electricity that the city hall consumes today. Mainly, after management took over Saerb (Rio Branco Water and Sewage Service)”, he concluded.
