A Spin, manufacturer of structures for fixing photovoltaic panels, participated in the design and supply of the structure of a 1.5 MW power system installed on a roof. According to the company, specific studies were necessary to meet the requirements stipulated by the end customer.

The manufacturer presented documentation with the loads applied to the roof along with information on the number of fixing points to withstand the forces caused by the region's winds.

“ABNT standard 6123 establishes wind levels by region of the country, with the location of the plant in São Paulo defined as region 3 and 4, however, taking into account the end client's premise, the project was prepared considering region 5, the which means working with winds of up to 50 m/s, that is, 180 km/h.” explains José Luiz Gava, executive director of Spin.

According to Júlio César Tavernaro Ribeiro, sales consultant at Spin, before contracting the project, it was necessary to present a prototype for the end customer to validate the practical functioning of the photovoltaic system.

“After the final assembly of this initial system, the rigidity aspects of the system and possible roof leaks at the Spin support attachment points were evaluated. Sealants were used that require days of curing, and after this time tests were carried out without identifying any problems. “The product and process were approved and we were able to continue producing the material” says Ribeiro.

The solar photovoltaic system was installed in a classification warehouse triple A, in terms of corporate development, is the best in the real estate market.

According to Flávio Abreu, executive director of I9, a company photovoltaic integrator, when the possibility of a budget for the project arose, they knew the quality standards would be high and the first choice of structure manufacturer was Spin.

“There are already some fixing models for W tiles, which is the tile we have in the shed, but I had some requirements that limited the installation, for example, I couldn't drill through the tile”, explains Abreu.

“The proposed support made better use of the area, and there was an area restriction, despite being a huge warehouse, we could not use the entire roof area, and where it was used it would have to be well used to reach a 1, 5 MW, which was only possible with this Spin structure”, he added.

“A good part of the project happened and it was possible to sell it to the client, because on the day of the meeting, Spin made a difference, not from a commercial point of view, but by giving a technical demonstration that the product was viable and that we would have a great chance successful”, he concluded.

“This is very important for us at Spin, it shows that we were part of a pioneering project in this product application category, and also the largest that exists to date, and for a company with great repercussion” highlighted Gava.
