The inauguration of the new manufacturing unit of Grupo SSM do Brasil in Jaboatão dos Guararapes (PE), on Monday (1st), placed the group as one of the largest conglomerates dedicated to the processing of steel and aluminum in the national market.
The company's approximate investment was R$ 77 million. This new unit is expected to create more than 2,000 direct and indirect jobs in the region.
According to the company, the new manufacturing unit is focused on aluminum extrusion and processed steel. The space has a production capacity of 5,950 tons of steel per month, equivalent to a production of 71,400 tons per year.
With the new investment, SSM do Brasil now has an annual steel production capacity of 5.5 million structures for photovoltaic panels, with a total of 3,025 GWp of production.
In relation to aluminum, the company has a production capacity of 1.2 thousand tons of the product per month, which if added together will be capable of offering 14.4 thousand tons per year. As a result, the company's annual production capacity now stands at 10.285 million structures for photovoltaic panels.
“It will be a big step for the group, which has been preparing for some time to carry out all the planning and now is the time to supply the entire market for the growth of the solar market and start activities in the construction market. Many fronts will be opened and our team will be ready to serve everyone with agility and speed”, highlights Carlos Bebiano, CEO of Grupo SSM do Brasil.
With the changes, the Steel unit in Curitiba (PR) will be taken to São José dos Pinhais (PR) and will have a production capacity of 3.6 thousand tons of transformed steel per month. This amount annually is equivalent to 43 thousand tons. Regarding production capacity, the unit will be responsible for 3.325 million photovoltaic panels, a total of 1,830 GWp.
The São José dos Pinhais unit focused on aluminum extrusion currently has a production capacity of 400 tons of the product per month, which is equivalent to 4.8 thousand tons per year. Thus, the annual production capacity is 3.428 million photovoltaic panels.
