Stardew Valley has photovoltaic panels in the new update

Simulation game brought sustainable news to RPG players

Solar energy is becoming increasingly popular. Even games offer the possibility of 'investing' in the photovoltaic source.

At the end of last year, the RPG and simulation game Stardew Valley received the first major update since its launch by Microsoft in 2016.

Update 1.5 brought several new features to the game, including the possibility of storing energy through the solar source.

Solar panels only generate energy when they are added to the player's farm. After being added, the player needs to wait 11 and a half days in game time, the equivalent of 3 hours and 50 minutes played, to earn a battery.

Previously, it was only possible to generate battery power on stormy days, which did not happen very often as the weather is defined randomly and according to the season, which generated complaints from players.

To obtain the construction recipe you must complete the mission proposed by NPC Caroline and have unlocked access to the game's new island, Gringer Island. To build a solar panel you need to have 10 refined quartz, 5 gold bars and 5 iron bars.

The game designed by Eric Barone, a video game developer, is a single-player or multiplayer simulation of a farm in a pixel art universe.

The player creates a character and chooses one of five farm options to live, work and generate a source of income.

Stardew allows the player to do activities such as fishing, planting, mining and crafting, in addition to community simulation with missions and events involving the NPCs that inhabit the city. Furthermore, the game has its own calendar where each season lasts 28 days.
