Thomas Zuzelo, founder of Xate Energia, says that the startup was created with the aim of transforming the renewable model for consumers. The economist founded the company in the renewable energy semiconductor manufacturing sector in 2021.

Based in São Paulo (SP), the startup offers energy contracts to private consumers and companies who, by signing a contract, no longer have to deal directly with the energy distributor.

The startup's projects generate credits and are distributed through energy distributors and automatically applied to the consumer's monthly bill.

While connected to the concessionaire, Xate Energia manages the energy bill and, at the end of each month, the combined bill and energy consumption are available to consumers on the company's digital platform.

For Zuzelo, the initial financing round was of great importance in starting the platform's operations, developing our first projects and hiring the team. “It was a process that we took internally and raised investment from several investors with many years of experience working in the financial sector and the energy sector”, he stated.

Xate Energia's first solar and battery storage projects are already being developed, with two types of storage within the platform: “We will develop solar projects with storage and we will also implement BTM solutions with batteries”, said Zuzelo.

In the long term, Xate Energia intends to reinvent the electrical distributor's business model, offering consumers a simple, cheaper and green 100% service.
