Spanish solar tracker and structure manufacturer STI Norland announced that it has started work on the Marabá project (PA), a 6 MW photovoltaic plant owned by Athon Energy.

According to the company, around R$ 22.8 million was invested in the construction of the plant, which is capable of generating 11 thousand MWh per year. The plant will prevent the emission of more than 825 tons of C02 per year.

“This is one of the major projects in which STI Norland Brasil is currently involved. In this case, we are not only supplying the solar trackers, but also assembling the equipment”, said Javier Reclusa, CEO of STI Norland Brasil.

“We have observed how solar has been growing significantly in Brazil and is becoming a protagonist of clean energy sources, mainly due to its excellent cost-benefit. We are very pleased to be part of strengthening this energy source in the country”, highlighted Reclusa.

According to the manufacturer, the products used in the Marabá project are the STI-H250 model, which is the bilinha tracker, the first of its kind on the market brought by STI Norland. The trackers will work with a self-power set, that is, the equipment is self-powered by a single panel, responsible for charging the battery, capable of moving 120 modules.

The company highlighted that the great difference of its services is the technology coupled and planned with product engineering. In the STI-H250, the TCU, which is like the tracker's brain, stores the settings and manages the positions for the greatest energy gain. With a simple and robust motor, coupled to a reduction gearbox, the TCU makes this communication, allowing the tracker to easily move the mechanical assembly, where the modules are fixed.

Coremas solar complex hires suppliers

The solar complex located in Coremas (PB), inaugurated on October 17th, is continuing its expansion works and publishing supply contracts for the implementation of five more plants, all of them contracted on the free market.

Two suppliers have already been announced: the Spanish STI Norland and the Chinese Huawei. The first will supply 2,460 trackers, model STI-H250, dual-row, for the Coremas 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 plants.

For the first three plants, installed in 2017, STI had already supplied 947 trackers, 254 of which were the H-1250 multiline model and the rest the same STI-H250.
